C.S. ARMSTRONG AHMAUD

Houston-raised C.S. Armstrong's sound is rooted in blues and folk, characterised by his voice that carries wisdom and pain. His new release 'AHMAUD' is a protest song and a memorial for 25 year old Ahmaud Arbery who was murdered on a jog, whose case is a result of hate crime. 'AHMAUD' sees Amstrong's powerful words cry for justice "I don't wana hear no more words when mothers are crying, leave our sons on the street, no country behind him...the justice that you serve, it don't apply to me". The song is short and powerful, with percussive stabs on piano, and also features segments of George Wallace's 1963 speech, famous for the phrase 'segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever'. 'AHMAUD' further brings to light the racial inequality faced daily by innocent black people, and calls for change. -Ellie Rose-Davies
